Armenia’s AI ecosystem is beginning to reach beyond its borders.

During NVIDIA’s October 23 visit to Astana, Firebird marked an investment agreement with the government of Kazakhstan. The company is building on its first AI factory in Armenia to develop infrastructure in Kazakhstan.

According to NVIDIA’s announcement, the first phase is under construction with Kazakhtelecom at Data Center Valley, with commercial launch targeted for the third quarter of 2027. Firebird also plans a Kazakhstan research initiative to support startups, research, and talent development through access to compute and partnerships.

Connecting infrastructure with people

The opportunity extends beyond the facilities themselves. Universities, researchers, and entrepreneurs need access to computing—and ways to turn their work into useful products and companies.

This is why the regional connection matters to the foundation’s interests in education and technology: work that starts in Armenia can help build relationships and opportunities elsewhere, while giving Armenian talent a wider field in which to contribute.

Rev joined the visit in his role as NVIDIA’s Vice President of Physical AI Simulation.
